Last Saturday, Joseph woke Grey up early to surprise him with a fishing trip! They drove down to Lake Jackson to Sea Center Texas where Grey got to fish for the first time! Even though the fish weren't biting, Grey had a blast! They also went to an aquarium there where Grey described a nurse shark as this big (stretching out his arms)!

On the way home, Joe stopped at Sky Dive Spaceland to let Grey watch the airplanes and parachuters. He thought that was very interesting too! To make the day even better, lunch was none other that a Happy Meal! Now, I don't know what else would have made a 2 1/2 year old any happier that day! What a fun Daddy/Son day!
After we got home, Grey got to play with his fishing pole for the first time! One of my sweet Kindergarten boys gave Grey this fishing pole (and tackle box) as a gift at my baby shower! I have been saving it for the perfect time to give it to him! Joseph taught him how to cast.

(this is one of my favorite pictures)
Grey learned very quickly how to cast his new pole!
He practiced this for at least 30 - 40 minutes (and got really good at it) before he decided to find another fishing hole...
...and there it was, an empty swimming pool. Grey stood behind the brick wall to cast his fish into the "pond", lay down his pole, run around to see the fish in the "pond" and the run back to reel in his catch! So cute. He played this game for another 30 minutes or so until...

...he got tired of standing. He climbed onto the "bank" and fished for another half hour or so...and even then, I had to bring him indoors, he wanted to stay outside and fish!
